I first discovered Mile High Spirits back in 2018, before I ever moved to Denver. I remember it vividly because I got a parking ticket from some random lot down the street. Worth it. At the time, I had no idea I’d eventually be diving headfirst into single barrels. But I do remember the energy. The excitement. The way they made whiskey feel approachable, fun, and completely unpretentious. Fast forward a few years, and I was finally able to do my first barrel pick with them. This marks my fourth single barrel with Mile High Spirits - fifth if you count our three-distiller blend collab, Skill Check - and they’ve become one of my absolute favorite brands to work with. Not just because their whiskey (including those glorious hazmats) is bold, delicious, and beautifully crafted, but because the guys behind the scenes are genuine, smart, and wildly fun to be around. They make whiskey feel like a good time. They literally sent a barrel to space. LET'S GO SCIENCE! I’m especially excited about this 7-year release because it captures something I love about their higher-proof single barrels: power without harshness. Depth without burn. Let it open up.
